Our Story

  • THEY MET
Cody and Heather met in 2011 through a mutual friend name Chad Tohinaka.  Cody had grown up with Chad and Heather knew him through an old boyfriend.  They eventually met at a get together with Chad and things bloomed from there.  Tragically, Chad passed away in a hunting accident on Nov. 17, 2012 just before Cody and Heather were married.  May Chad forever rest in peace!

  • THEY DATED
When Cody met Heather, she had other obligations to a previous boyfriend she had sent out on a mission.  Cody spent just under two years proving to her over and over that he was a better fit for her.  It took many prayers, many tears, many laughs, and a lot of trust, but eventually Heather realized Cody was right.  Their dating life was full of high highs and low lows, but it was a dating experience that can be compaired to none else.  Cody and Heather had to learn to really depend on each other during their dating years and because of it, it set a strong foundation for a long relationship.

  • THEY GOT ENGAGED
On October 13, 2012, Cody finally proposed to Heather.  He had a fun date planned for her and quickly threw in the idea of going to get a cartoon sketch drawn of us.  They went downtown where Heather thought Cody's uncle was set up to practice drawing sketches of people, something he did each Saturday as a hobby, or so she thought.  After some time of sitting and waiting while their pictures got sketched, Cody's uncle eventually turned the picture so they could see.  Their faces were drawn to scale with blank word bubbles over their heads.  At that time, Heather started to think something seemed fishy.  When she turned to look at Cody, he was down on one knee with a ring in his hands.  He said, "I know what I want my bubble to say, will you marry me?"- with a few more personal lines in between.  Heather of course said yes and soon filled in her bubble with the happy word.  And then all of the friends and family that were in hiding came out to congratulate the newly engaged couple.

  • THEY MARRIED
On March 7, 2013 on a nice, sunny day, Cody and Heather were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.  They had a nice luncheon at Olive Garden that afternoon and a beautiful reception at Wheeler Farm in the barn that evening.  This is just the beginning of their long and wonderful life together.
